Oracle is streets ahead

Unveiled at Frankfurt’s Light + Building show in April 2006 the new Oracle lantern adds yet another dimension to Thorn Lighting’s growing range of road lanterns.

Oracle is streets ahead

Suitable for a wide range of applications, from city streets to major traffic routes, it embodies a new concept in optics, plus features to simplify installation, minimise maintenance requirements and maximise energy savings.

The Oracle range is all about choice. Within one consistent and unobtrusive design there is a choice of body size, shallow or flat glass enclosures, post-top or side entry, and 25 lamp options, from 50W to 600W. It is also possible to specify photocell, minicell, dimming or energy management versions.

Oracle’s optical secret is the design of a new generation of reflectors which, when combined with the choice of enclosures and lampholder adjustments, matches the light distribution to the geometry of the road. There is a choice of 'Access', 'Wide' or 'Comfort' optics, the latter being dedicated for CEN / EN13201.  Both 'Wide' and 'Comfort' versions feature a double IP66 protected Optibloc system for extended maintenance cycles. The benefits are less spill light beyond the road surface with better uniformity and increased lantern spacing with savings in initial expenditure and future maintenance costs.
