SELECT is holding a series of half day assessed courses intended to update electrotechnical personnel in the electrical and general construction industries on health & safety standards in line with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) skill card requirements:
This SELECT course aims to provide participants with a knowledge of construction industry Health and Safety Standards to enable them to obtain the ECS safety qualification. Participants who successfully complete the course assessment will be awarded a certificate which can be used to update their current ECS card, to include ECS Assessed hologram.
The course content:
The course will cover:
- Health & Safety at Work Act.
- Risk Assessment.
- Manual Handling.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Noise.
- Substances Hazardous to Health.
- Construction Safety.
- Fire Safety.
- Safety Signs.
- RIDDOR.
- Electrical Safety.
The dates and venues include:
- March 8th 2007 in Aberdeen.
- March 15th in Glasgow.
- March 21st in Edinburgh.
Grant support of 30% will be available from the Electrical Engineering Training Foundation (EETF) or may be available from Local Enterprise companies in Scotland.
Fees are £60 for SELECT members and £75 for non-members.
