Schneider Electric introduces the optimised Lexium 28 + Lexium BCH2 servo bundle for compact machines

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, has just introduced a new servo bundle optimised for a wide range of machine applications. Comprising the LexiumTM 28 servo drive and the Lexium BCH2 servo motor, the bundle offers customers the advantage of out-of-the-box integration, as well as increased cost and energy efficiency.

Lexium 28 servo drives

Lexium 28 is a line of servo drives offering a performance range of 0.05 to 4.5 kW. They use CANopen and CANmotion, as well as a pulse train interface, for easy connection to controllers without a fieldbus network.

Lexium 28 servo drives are parameterised and commissioned using a Modbus interface. Thanks to speed and torque control functions, and an integrated autotuning algorithm, they are suitable for use in a wide variety of machine applications.

In addition, with an embedded Safe Torque Off (STO) function, the servo drive can be used in safety solutions rated up to SIL 2/PL d (SIL: Safety integrity level; PL: performance level). Lexium 28 units can also be customised with a range of accessories, including power filters, braking resistors and other accessories for easier installation and commissioning.

Lexium BCH2 servo motors

When combined with motors from the Lexium BCH2 series, Lexium 28 servo drives are suitable for a wide range of machine applications, from packaging machines and machine tools to handling systems. The BCH2 motors, which are available with different inertia levels, cover a performance range of 0.05 to 4.5 kW in six flange dimensions:40, 60, 80, 100, 130, and 180 mm.
