Q & A of the Day - What code should be attributed to a bathroom pull switch?
Question: What observation / recommendation code should be attributed to a pull switch mechanism located within Zone 1 or Zone 2 in a room containing a bath or shower?

Is a Code 2 warranted, or would a Code 4 be more appropriate?

Answer: Current regulations do not allow for this, so provisionally it would be a Code 4. If because of it being in that environment there are signs of deterioration or risk of danger, then you should bring the Code to a 2 to resolve the issue.
