PAT Tester for Class I and II appliances

Published: 17 July 2003 Category: News

Robin is offering a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) that performs all the safety tests required for Class I and Class II appliances:

The ruggedly made Robin SmartPAT 3500 Portable Appliance Tester checks the safety of Class I and Class II portable appliances and aids compliance with the legal requirements of the 'Electricity at Work Regulations 1989' and the 'Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998'. Quick one-touch operations perform earth bond, insulation and fuse continuity tests for 230V and 110V appliances, and testing of IEC leads. The 3500 also performs the 100mA Business Equipment Test.

Increases productivity:

The Print feature avoids the need for writing test results by hand. The SmartPAT 3500 is simply connected to an optional Robin SP 1000 printer via an integral RS 232 port. After each reading the test result is printed automatically at the push of a button. For the busy contractor, this not only avoids any transcription errors but also speeds up the process and thus increases productivity.

Stored test results can be automatically downloaded on-site to a printer, increasing productivity and avoiding errors. Test results can be issued immediately the work has been carried out. The SP1000 is powered by a rechargeable battery and will fit neatly into the lid of the 3500.

Robin is offering free 14-day evaluations of its easy-to-use, Windows-based, software packages for PAT testing, PowerPAT Plus. This can be used with the top-of-the-range Robin SmartPAT 5500.

Information about all Robin products, and the 14-day software evaluation, can be found on the www.robinelectronics.com web site.
