Osram optimises its electronic transformers

Osram has introduced its electronic Halotronic Mouse HTM 70 and HTM 105 transformers, which make installation easier, and more:

Osram's recently introduced Halotronic Mouse HTM 70 and HTM 105 transformers boast additional features that open up new applications and make it easier for electricians to install the transformers. They can achieve this without compromising, in any way, on the small dimensions and application-related design that have made these units so successful.

Three terminal pairs - one primary and two secondary - are provided so that one or two luminaires can be connected directly to the new Mouse transformers. Osram has also improved the cable clamp so that now cables with different cross-sections can be held firmly in place. This means that, in addition to NYM cables, round cables with a diameter of 5.5 to 10mm and oval cables from 5 x 3.5mm to 8 x 5mm can now be clamped. The company will continue to use the tried and tested screw fixing for strain relief.

Easier to handle too:

A further improvement is that the fixing screws on the HTM 70 and HTM 105 transformers are now held captive in the strain relief cap. This makes it much easier to handle the units during installation, as the screws can no longer fall out.

The rounded shape of the casing and the small dimensions of the two transformers are unchanged from their predecessors. For openings of 68 and 55mm, they need a mounting depth of just 48 and 60mm respectively.

The transformers can be dimmed with either trailing edge or leading edge phase dimmers for inductive loads.
