Answer: The market descriptors 'LSF' and 'LSOH' have no specific meanings. The requirements on a cable are set out in the cable standards, and these will specify whether the cable must comply with various smoke, flame and chemical tests. These may include the smoke emission test, halogens or corrosive and acid gas tests.
In addition, most cables will have to have passed a flame propagation on single cable test in order to comply with their standard.
These test methods are not mutually incompatible, and most higher performance cables will comply with many requirements.
