Dewalt have just launched the DC600 extremely compact, yet very powerful industrial screwdriver which is ideally suited for electricians.
The DC600 is ideal for driving screws and pilot drilling. The optimised working range is in lower powerspeed applications where it is a priority not to damage the screw head or work piece or where it is critical not to over tighten fixings. The 2 speeds on the unit are 200 600rpm. This coupled with the 8 torque settings make it one of the most controllable and accurate screwdrivers available.
It is ideally suited for electricians, plumbers, kitchen fitters and a host of other trades where control and accuracy are paramount.
For user comfort the handle can be locked in 3 different positions; inline, pistol or intermediate, maximising user comfort and enabling the user to reach the most awkward of areas in any working position. The soft grip adds to the comfort along with the large, rapid actuation, paddle switch. It has a quick release 6.35mm magnetic hex fitting chuck which accepts all 6.35mm hex bits. This ensures rapid bit change.
The DC600 has been ruggedly designed with a 40mm metal gear case and all metal gears which is not only very compact but very tough. For added durability there is a xenoy tool housing, tough enough for the professional workplace.
There are 2 lights at the end of the unit which illuminate the working area. This is especially useful when working inside or under units where there is little or no light available. The lights are operated by an independent switch positioned so as to avoid accidental actuation.
It will be available during April in two forms: DC600KA with 2 x 3.6v batteries, a 1 hour charger and heavy duty carrying case or the DC600 which comes with 1 x 3.6v battery and 1 hour charger only without carrying case.
