Modular LV switchboards up to 10,000A

Eaton Bill Switchgear's Classic Form 4 range of modular switchboards now includes ratings up to 10,000A with a short-circuit performance of 100kA:

They offer a flexible solution to modern demands for high levels of user safety in applications involving high prospective fault currents.

Classic Form 4 switchboards by Eaton Bill Switchgear are fully compartmentalised low voltage switchboards of modular construction with Form 4 (Type 6 or 7) separation. This means that the busbar system is separated from all functional units (circuit-breakers, switches etc.), all functional units are separated from one-another, and incoming and outgoing terminals are separated from the busbars and from each other.

The panels are designed so that combinations of fuse-switches, ACBs, MCCBs, power factor correction equipment, current transformers, anti-condensation heaters and other ancillary equipment can be arranged in vertical stacks, complete with busbars, risers and interconnections. Standardised modular construction gives a high degree of flexibility, good technical performance and cost-effective design. Corner units are available for 'L' or 'U' shaped switchboards.

Certified by KEMA:

The new 10,000A units have vertical/horizontal busbars which have been certified by KEMA for short-circuit performance at 100kA for one second (220kA peak). This is an increasing requirement of modern installations having large (3-4MVA) transformers feeding the distribution switchboards via low impedance busbar trunking. This can result in high prospective fault currents.

The 10,000A units are offered with rear access as standard, providing unobstructed access at the rear for cabling, with full cable segregation for top and bottom cable and busduct entry. Protective devices are removable from the front.

The versatile enclosure system provides for separate or integrated MV switchgear and transformers and offers the capability for future extension.

The Classic Form 4 range also includes 500A, 1000A, 1250-4000A and 1600-4000A ratings, with front or rear access options.

A full service:

Eaton Bill Switchgear can offer a complete system design and application service for any project. Its product range includes low voltage switchboards, panelboards and distribution boards together with both circuit-breakers and fuse switchgear. On major projects, such as the £500 million Birmingham Bullring development, due to open in September, it can call on the resources of other Eaton Electric companies including Holec medium voltage switchboards, Johnson and Phillips power factor correction systems and Mempower busbar trunking.
