ABB's new DOCwin 2.1 software package for the design and dimensioning of electrical installations is available now, free of charge to designers and consultants:
The ABB Design Optimisation on Computer (DOC) win 2.1 software has been developed by ABB to cover virtually anything that an electrical installation designer could demand of a calculation package from calculating an entire installation or just solving a simple local problem. In each case DOCwin 2.1 provides an easy intuitive solution.
DOCwin 2.1's capabilities include:
- Design of single-line diagrams.
- Calculation of low and medium voltage radial and meshed networks.
- Calculation of load currents and voltage drops under working conditions.
- Automatically dimensioning cable cross-sections.
- Calculation of maximum and minimum short-circuit currents at every point of the network.
- Automatic selection of switching and protection devices.
- Offering the option of restricting the automatic dimensioning to certain aspects or of changing any automatic selections made by the program.
- Providing a powerful means for designing the time/current characteristics of protection devices.
- Providing complete, customised project documentation that can be exported in other formats such as DWG, DXF, WMF and RTF.
DOCwin 2.1 is compatible for use with Windows 9.x, Me, NT 4.0 or 2000. Registered users are able to take advantage of a web or telephone help desk together with a web-based upgrade service that enables them to benefit from ABB's ongoing development of the software tool.
Free copies of the DOCwin 2.1 CDRom are available on request from ABB. Contact Janet Roadway on 024 7636 8500 or email [email protected].
