Emerson Network Power presents the new Himod S range, designed and made by Liebert HIROSS, European brand leader in high performance air conditioning systems:

Himod S by Emerson Network Power is an innovative solution for environmental control and protection of computer rooms, telecommunications sites, data centres and other hi-tech facilities. Himod S sets new standards in precision control of environmental conditions for these specialist applications, innovative design and technological features placing it at the top of the market, particularly for its efficiency, noise levels and footprint.
The new range offers nominal cooling capacities of between 4 and 30kW and will provide considerable flexibility in terms of architecture and component options, thereby optimising performance whatever the system specification. The use of advanced fan design, evaporating coils with optimised circuits and compliant scroll compressors has made it possible to increase the system's overall efficiency and obtain extremely low energy consumption levels.
Specialised 'plug-in' fans, already used in the larger capacity Himod range, maintain high efficiency and low noise levels. The reduced sound emissions have been achieved thanks also to the optimised airflow rates and full cabinet soundproofing.
Cuts energy consumption:
Pioneering electronic commutation (EC) fans available as an option, can reduce energy consumption levels by as much as 35%. These fans give greater motor efficiency, up to 65% against the three-phase and up to 45% against single-phase, traditional motors. Therefore, EC fans allow a new approach to controlling conditions in precision air conditioning: constant air volume, constant external static pressure, optimised input current, and cooling capacity regulation. These features enable the whole system to be optimised for the needs of each specific installation.
Efficiency is a fundamental requirement in all applications today and especially so for technological applications where operational costs are by far the most significant consideration. Sensible heat ratio (SHR) values approaching 1.0 are required to reduce to a minimum the energy spent controlling humidity during normal operating conditions. Heat exchanger design and a correct air distribution within the unit are two of the most important factors required to achieve optimum performance.
Himod units feature up to 55mm2 coil heat exchanger surface area per watt of cooling capacity. Sophisticated design and development tools have identified the best component layout in order to achieve a pressure equalized airflow distribution within the case, which optimises the entire coils surface area in the heat exchanging process.
A number of versions:
Himod S is available in a wide range of cooling versions: DX Air Cooled, Water Cooled (with or with out integrated Freecooling allowing power input savings whenever the outdoor temperature is 5ºC below the indoor return temperature), Chilled Water, Dual Fluid (with both mechanical DX and chilled water circuits). The airflow configurations are: Upflow, Downflow, Displacement and Constant.
Himod Displacement units, beneficial when there are no raised floors, supply low velocity cool air at floor level and stratification creates even temperature gradients throughout the room. It is possible to achieve up to 10% greater cooling capacity per square metre, with lower operating and installation costs.
The Constant version of Himod is the ideal solution when standards are particularly stringent. HIMOD S Constant allows tolerances of + 0.3 C° and + 2% R.H. (Relative Humidity).
Units can be networked:
All Himod models are fitted with the Microface Evolution control that allows up to 16 units to be linked on a network, configuration and graphic data record access being afforded by the Hiromatic Evolution option. Himod Connectivity options, Hirovisor and Hirolink, provide supervision interface systems with innovative monitoring and control features that make networking easy and grant unrivalled system optimisation and energy savings.
Matching remote condensers and dry coolers are available in standard and low noise configurations. All environmental functions - cooling, re-heat, dehumidification, humidification and filtration - are available and all units are factory tested at normal and extreme conditions to provide the maximum protection of customers' equipment.
