Question: What are the procedures for testing and recording the results within a hospital environment where we are working to MEIGaN medical installation guidance notes and BS 7671?

Note that the electrical circuits involved are fed from an IPS distribution board with the earth conductors terminated into a earth reference bar - not within the distribution board as normal. The supply to the IPS boards is also fed from an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system.

Answer: The procedures for testing and the recording requirements for such an electrical installation should be as required by BS 7671:2008 (2011).

This procedure should also be compliant with your client's specification and/or contract requirements.
