Q & A of the Day - swapping consumer unit circuits – which certificate to issue?
Question: I have been asked to swap circuits in a consumer unit in which ring mains were on the main switch side of a split load board, and lighting on the RCD protected side, and install grommets to boxes and sleeve live conductors in switches. This is the result of an inspection in which these were marked as being deviations.

Which certificate am I expected to issue after I have corrected the work?

Answer: A BS 7671 Completion Certificate should be completed and issued, complete with notes identifying the extent of the work that you have carried out.
