Question: Am I correct in thinking that you can replace 'like-for-like' electrical fixtures and fittings without notification in Special Locations?

I've read a couple of guides that suggest this. I have in mind broken switches, damaged cables and damaged socket fronts. If this is correct, would ceiling fittings and showers be included - ie: could you replace a Triton 9kW shower with one of the same model and rating?

I'm a shift electrician now, but have been an installation sparkie and have held Part P accreditation with NAPIT in the past.

Answer: Yes, changing 'like-for-like' items of equipment is not Notifiable Work under Part P of the Building Regulations.
