Our ECA expert answers a question from a Voltimum user regarding bonding outside a gas meter box and the type of clamp needed.
Question:
A bonding cable has been cut too short to reach the external gas meter box. Is it permissible to bond the pipe outside the box, and if so, are there special requirements for the type of clamp to be used?
Answer:
Yes, it is permissable, you would have to use an appropriate BS 951 clamp.
