The British Standard BS951 is based on the intrinsic design of the metal clamp that basically has remained unchanged for over 40 years. This has restricted new developments intended to improve the performance and ease of use offered by non-metallic materials.
The revolutionary Eaton EZYBOND clamp is such a case where it has been thoroughly tested at an independent ASTA accredited Laboratory and fully complies with all the electrical testing requirements as defined in BS951 but it cannot claim compliance due to its construction out of non-metal material.
Eaton is pursuing a change to the BSI standard to allow other suitable and tested materials to be used in the construction of earth clamps and until such a change is introduced we would welcome your support by including EZYBOND as an alternative in any specifications you are in control of that specify earth clamps to BS951.
As additional support to this request, we enclose a certificate of conformity and a technical specification sheet for your own records plus assurances to enable compliance with BS7671 under regulation 511-01-02.
Eaton has complete confidence in this product as it offers many benefits to the installer in terms of significant time saving (at least 60%) along with an easier and safer way of fitting without potential harm to the fitter (no sharp metal parts / screwdrivers slipping etc.). If you would like additional information or samples of the product then please contact us via the details on the enclosed technical sheet.
Please support new and innovative developments by including EZYBOND in your design specifications.
