Socket & See, a division of the Kew Technik Group of Companies, has introduced the first in a series of three Check Boxes.
CB 100 is the type of check box recommended by the NICEIC, it is supplied with a Calibration Certificate, mains power lead, 4mm test leads, a manual and provides a quick and simple method of checking the ongoing accuracy of electrical installation test instruments.
Whilst it does not replace the calibration requirements, it provides a ready check, on instrument accuracy helping to minimise costly revisits to confirm installation compliance and greatly extend periods between costly formal calibrations.
The CB 100 offers the user checks for:
· Continuity Testing
· Insulation Resistance
· Earth Fault Loop Impedance
· Fast check option for Site Checks
· Local earth fault impedance
· Earth fault impedance plus 1Ω
Calibration
When using a check box, it is essential for the user to remember that if the measured values are found to be within the manufacturers tolerance, the instrument is suitable for continued use. If the values are outside the manufacturers tolerance then the instrument should be returned for checking and calibration.
