Question: What is the difference between EIB and BMS?

Answer: EIB - now known as KNX - is the European interface bus, whilst BMS stands for Building Management System. BMS systems can consist of many different products passing information via a communication protocol to a central controller. The communication protocol can vary from system to system, as can the controller software and the way in which it is implemented.

KNX, on the other hand, is a standard interface used by many different product manufacturers for their device product to allow them to be used together in a peer-to-peer manner. KNX can be used within a BMS.
