Legrand Electric is bidding to win a significant share of the UK's PVC perimeter trunking market by launching a new range of PVC-U trunking:
"PVC trunking is the only major sector of the UK's cable management market that we are not well represented in, yet in France the company has been so successful that DLP has become the generic term for PVC trunking," said Legrand product manager, Thomas Langle.
"As a result of our success throughout Europe we have developed a range of DLP trunking especially for the UK market, while still retaining all the product benefits that have helped make it a household name on the continent."
The new DLP trunking is available in three profiles - skirting, dado and universal - and fourteen sizes. It is compatible with current data cable requirements and incorporates a host of innovative features that will make it stand out in the UK market.
A flexible lid, thought to be unique, not only creates a smooth, clean style, but also allows for quicker and easier installation. It can flow round most bends and corners without needing to be cut and joined, and its flexible clips make fastening and unfastening far easier.
Smooth and attractive:
Corner pieces incorporate an 85-95 degree adjustable angle which ensures all Legrand DLP PVC trunking will fit flush to the wall, with no unsightly gaps, even when corners are not perfectly square. In addition, all fixing knockouts are semi-sheared to eliminate unused holes that can allow water ingress.
Reacting to customer feedback is a key aspect of Legrand's product development strategy and, as product manager Thomas Langle explains, the development of DLP was no exception.
"Installing cable trunking can be long and laborious, especially when the contractor has to fix a series of retainers just to hold cables in place," he said
"We have made this process easier by altering the shape of the trunking so that an integral lip holds cables in place during installation, thus reducing the number of retainers needed. Together with the other new features on the DLP trunking we have been able to significantly reduce installation time."
