Lockable 13A socket-outlets have been added to the Ultra flat plate range of wiring accessories from Eaton MEM:
These are suitable for commercial premises and public areas where the use of socket-outlets needs to be restricted to authorised personnel or specific applications. Typical applications include cleaners' supplies, kiddies' rides in shopping malls, or socket-outlets for occasional use in public areas such as underground car parks. They may also be used in hospitals, hotels, hostels, schools and colleges, laboratories and other locations where the use of power supplies may need to be restricted.
Three different types:
Three different types of lockable socket are available. These are:
- Same key sockets, where one key will fit all sockets in an installation, for use by cleaners, maintenance personnel etc.
- Individual key sockets, where each socket has its own key, for use in shops and other situations where use is restricted to a single user.
- 'Key lock on' sockets, where the user must turn the socket off before removing the key. This ensures that the power is not inadvertently left on.
The Ultra range comprises switches, socket-outlets, fused connection units and other wiring accessories with completely flat metal plates, only 1.5mm thick, which sit flush with a wall. The lockable sockets are available in all the normal Ultra metal plate finishes - stainless steel, highly polished, polished brass, white, brass satin, anodised silver, antique bronze, antique copper and metallic grey. They can also be supplied in a choice of 180 RAL colours and in special shapes.
The lockable sockets are designed for installation in a 35mm deep two-gang box and comprise a two-pole switch controlling a 13A outlet.
