Wire Rope Suspension, The alternative to threaded rod – Innovate don’t Replicate

The content of this presentation addresses the issue of suspending services that, for many years, have utilised brackets fabricated from threaded steel rod and channel. As manufacturers of wire rope systems Zip-Clip have prepared this presentation to show how, by using wire rope in place of threaded rod, significant, technical, commercial and environmental benefits can be achieved. In this CIBSE approved CPD presentation we identify those critical factors which need to be addressed in the design and selection process and explain how, by applying the standards, and understanding the key issues on any specific project, those benefits can be obtained. The objective is to provide sufficient information to those involved with the design, specification and installation of building services and other suspended systems to allow them to replace threaded rod with wire rope safe in the knowledge that they will be installing a fully accountable system which will benefit them both practically and commercially by its use.
