Testing of electrical installations

Published: 1 October 2003 Category: News

A one-day course entitled ‘Testing of Electrical Installations’ is organised by the IEE:

This one-day short course is an introduction to testing to BS 7671 : 2001 (IEE Wiring Regulations Sixteenth Edition) and is particularly suitable for those who lack practical experience or require a refresher. The course combines formal teaching with "hands-on" practical sessions and assumes a basic understanding of BS 7671 technical requirements.

A series of test boards embrace the following tests:

  • Continuity of protective conductors.
  • Ring circuit continuity.
  • Insulation resistance and polarity.
  • Live polarity, earth loop impedance, prospective fault current and RCD operation.

Delegates will be able to practise these tests for themselves.

Ideally, delegates should have personal copies of BS 7671:2001 and IEE Guidance Note 3 Inspection & Testing (4th edition) as these are referenced throughout the course.

Date is: London - 21 November 2003. The fee is: for members - £245 + VAT (£42.88) = £287.88, and for non-members £320 + VAT (£56.00) = £376.00.
