This SQA accredited three day course is recommended to practicing electricians who require to demonstrate that they are fully conversant with the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2008 (2015) (IET Wiring Regulations 17th Edition).
Overview:
The course also satisfies the training requirement for National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) Qualified Supervisors.
This award has been SCQF credit rated by the SQA, it has been accredited to SCQF Level 7 (This is equivalent to level 4 on the QCF scale).
Aim:
The programme which is of three days duration is structured to give the participant an in-depth knowledge of BS 7671:2008 (2015). A comprehensive study of the regulations in respect of installation design including selection and erection of equipment and cable sizing is carried out. Delegates will also build their skills and knowledge in Initial Verification and Certification.
Assessment of the participant’s knowledge is carried out over the three days.
Candidate must successfully complete all assessments before we can apply for the certificate from the SQA.
Course Content:
Day One
Design of electrical installations including worked examples of cable selection and sizing.
Day Two
Inspection, testing, certification and reporting of electrical installations.
Day Three
Case study and practical inspection, testing and certification exercise.
