This SQA accredited programme is recommended for all practicing electricians who want to keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date in relation to inspection, testing and certification of both new and existing electrical installations. Participants gain practical hands-on experience in the use of test instruments.
Overview:
Successful completion of this course is accepted by the SJIB for Grade Card renewal.
This award has been SCQF credit rated by the SQA, it has been accredited to SCQF Level 7 (This is equivalent to level 4 on the QCF scale).
Aim:
The aim of this programme is to help delegates build their knowledge and practical skills in Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection including knowledge of the certification process. This course will help delegates to gain an understanding of the requirements contained in the latest version of BS 7671 in relation to this type of work.
Course Content:
This programme is made up of two-separate training days.
Part One (Initial Verification) MUST be completed before delegates can attend Part Two (Periodic Inspection and Testing).
Candidates must successfully complete BOTH parts before we can apply for the certificate from the SQA.
Candidates who have completed the Initial Verification qualification within the last 5 years may be able to get credit for this when working towards the Inspection and Testing qualification. This will reduce the cost and the time needed. Contact SELECT training on 0131 445 5577 for further information or email [email protected]
Introduction to BS 7671 (Online Course)
The online course provides a basic introduction to BS 7671. The aim of the course is to ensure that delegates can successfully navigate and find key information from the latest version of the IET Wiring Regulations. This course takes a few hours to complete and can be completed in stages. This course can be done on PC’s or
I-pads.
To complete the online course, candidates will need access to Requirements for Electrical Installations (17th Edition Wiring Regs) BS 7671:2008 (2015).
The online component complements the material that will be covered on the day-training course. To get the most from the training day we recommend that delegates complete the online course before attending the day-course.
