Question: Does building stud/partition walls (with door on one side) on both sides of corner shower cubicle redefine it as a 'separate' room, thereby allowing 240V RCD protected sockets to be installed within three metres - Zone 3?
What constitutes the zone 'end', i.e. 'outside' the shower room? Obviously, the dividing wall between buidings is one (or is it?) but what about within buildings and rooms?
BS 7671 seems very unclear - to me anyway - on these situations, where a shower is installed in rooms with another main purpose. Many thanks for any clarification you can supply.
Answer: The area outside the door into a room containing a bath or shower is outwith the location covered by Section 701 and the general requirements of BS 7671: 2008 would apply.
