Question: After conversations with on-site electricians installing some new ring circuits wired in twin and earth, I made several comments and raised concern about the installation method of just throwing cables across a false ceiling grid.

The answer given was 'we always do it this way, and the cables are protected above the grid' just doesn't seem to be correct. Before I make this an issue, what are your thoughts?

This is no reference or installation method that I know of.

Answer: Cables above a suspended ceiling should be suitably supported and protected from mechanical damage where necessary. It is usually preferable to support the cables from ceiling suspension supports, or attach to a ceiling at a higher level if possible.
