Our Voltimum Experts answer your questions on a daily basis in our Technical Expertise area. This Question of the Day, concerning providing an extra socket outlet in a bedroom, is answered by the ECA:

Am I correct in thinking I can run a 'spur from a spur', as long as overload protection is included using a 13A fuse?
If so, should the fuse be installed before the first spur, or can it be placed prior to the second spur socket outlet? In short, can the additional spur be a 13A fused socket outlet?
Answer: The fused connection would need to be sited before any outlets to make it a fused spur.
