Q & A of the Day – Do I have to re-sit this course or take a refresher?

Question: I've just found out that the City & Guilds qualification 2391 that I hold has now been changed to 2394/5. Do I have to re-sit this course or take a refresher?

I keep constantly up to date with the current regulations (BS 7671:2008) and its First Amendment. I am self-employed and my local authority has already refused to accept completion certificates from inspectors unless they are registered with SELECT or other suitable governing body. I have a small turnover and this is crippling me - any more cost may put me out of business.

Answer: The 2391 is still a valid qualification and there is no requirement to do a refresher course. This would be your decision as part of your CPD.

The new qualification now replaces the 2391, but does not supersede it.
