Doepke presents the new DFS HP RCCB, specifically designed for use in installations with heat pumps, offering the highest possible protection level.
The protection specifications for modern heat pumps do not allow for any compromises: heat pumps use frequency inverters that can generate smooth DC residual currents. Leading manufacturers stipulate the use of residual current devices that are AC/DC sensitive or All current sensitive i.e. Type B .
The new DFS HP is an AC/DC sensitive residual current device that has been specifically designed for use in heat pump applications. The DFS HP protection level meets the requirements of modern heat pump inverter design characteristics, were inverter switching frequency settings exceed the existing Type B product standard of 1kHz.
Supply transients generated during heat pump operation can result in unwanted tripping of conventional RCDs, a nuisance and inconvenience for the final customer and unnecessary callouts for the HP manufacturer. The DFS HP includes transient resistant features ensuring increased system availability for the customer and less problems for the manufacturer.

DFS HP – RCCB for heat pumps
The new Doepke DFS HP has been specifically designed for use in heat pump applications where inverter switching frequencies exceed 1 kHz. This is not covered by the existing Type B product standard. The protection level of the DFS HP AC/DC sensitive (Type B) RCCB fulfils the requirements for use with modern heat pump designs. In addition, the transient resistant features built into the DFS HP ensure increased system availability.
