MGE UPS SYSTEMS LAUNCHES TWO NEW 3-PHASE SOLUTIONS FOR HIGHER AVAILABILITY AND LOWER COST OF OWNERSHIP

The Comet 3000 has been launched to meet demand for a reliable yet low cost, entry level, 3-phase UPS. Designed for industrial or telecommunication applications, the Comet 3000 can be paralleled to provide an N+1 solution without the need for synchronizing external boxes or multiple cables. As standard, it features an LCD and LED status panel and is shipped with dry contacts, which can alert users to load on battery and end of autonomy. Network connection and remote monitoring is achieved by adding an internal network card. The cabling for the Comet 3000 is located at the bottom, front section of the UPS for ease of installation.
Because the Comet 3000 is also available as a three phase in and out solution it builds on the design features of the three phase in and single phase out product and provides parallel operation for improved reliability, a wide input window of 340V to 456V, ensuring the battery remains 100% charged and ready for use, high efficiency even at 55% load, an independent power supply for each electronics board, and it is engineered to enable fast servicing.
The Comet 3000 is available in three phase in and single phase out power ratings of 20 and 30kVA
and three phase in and and three phase out power ratings of 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80kVA.
The Galaxy Optimum
The Galaxy Optimum is ideal for data centres, telecommunication and industrial applications because of its space optimised design and reliability that builds on the features of the Galaxy range. Over 2,900 million KVA of critical loads are currently being protected by Galaxy solutions across the world.
Due to its ability to handle leading edge power factor loads, the Galaxy Optimum can provide users with power density per M2 for UPS solutions in the 400 to 450kVA market. It can also provide a UPS solution of greater then 93%, resulting in an overall lower cost of ownership.
As standard, the Galaxy Optimum features the DigitBatTM system which optimises the battery recharging parameters thus extending battery life. In addition, by automatically checking every parameter of the battery, the ‘battery monitoring’ is able to predict when the battery will fail.
The Galaxy Optimum is supplied with monitoring software for easy peer to peer monitoring or network based event monitoring. Additional network options include an NMS integration kit for HP Openview and IBM Tivoli Netview among others.
The Galaxy Optimum is available with various options including Harmonic Filter, 12 Pulse Rectifier, Total Harmonic Management, Mains 2 Transformer, wide choice of communication offerings and paralleling configurations.
