Martindale Electric has launched the HPAT650 Advanced Portable Appliance Tester. Compact, easy to operate, and feature-rich, the HPAT650 is the latest in a long line of practical, dependable testers designed to support safety and compliance in every working environment - from schools and offices to construction sites and industrial facilities.
The HPAT650 delivers all the essential tests needed to verify the safety of electrical appliances and to fulfil testing requirements for Class I & Class II appliances. Tests include an IT-safe 200mA earth continuity test, selectable insulation resistance testing at 250V and 500V, plus a dedicated test mode for IEC power leads. The 250V insulation test option ensures compatibility with surge-protected devices, giving testers greater flexibility across a wider range of applications.
As with other PAT testers in the Martindale range the HPAT650 features a fully automated testing mode for fast complete testing. In addition, it has a single test execution mode, which enables users to carry out individual tests manually for troubleshooting when required.
The HPAT650 features user-adjustable test limits to cater for appliances with longer supply leads or non-standard requirements. Also included is a substitute leakage test feature for checking earth leakage at reduced voltage - an essential addition for sensitive electronic equipment where powered testing is impractical, or not recommended.
With a simple interface and logical test sequencing, the advanced HPAT650 PAT tester has been developed to reduce user error and increase efficiency, particularly for high-volume PAT environments. For result reporting, the unit includes onboard memory for storing up to 100 test results with on-screen recall, allowing the user to keep track of their testing without external devices.
The robust yet compact construction ensures durability in challenging site conditions, and the clear bright colour display is useable in most lighting situations. The unit is rechargeable using the integral USB-C port, completing a significant number of tests on a single charge. The auto power-down feature is used to extend battery life even further.
Replacing the popular Martindale HPAT600 model, the advanced HPAT650 is supplied with everything needed to begin testing straight out of the box. The unit includes a TL67 earth bond probe, EX322 IEC adaptor lead, TC57 carry case, and a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, alongside a verification certificate and operating instructions.
Martindale also offers a wide range of optional accessories to extend testing capability. Including, adaptors for 110V appliances and 3-phase equipment, PAT label packs, plug lockouts, and a PAT register book. These accessories make the HPAT650 a highly adaptable solution suitable for facilities managers, service companies, and contractors operating across multiple sectors.
