Big grip, small pliers: The new KNIPEX TwinGrip XS

Trying to get into small spaces can be difficult, especially when there’s barely enough room for a hand, let alone a conventional pair of pliers. This is where the new KNIPEX TwinGrip XS is designed to get to work. At just 100mm long, the latest addition to the TwinGrip range brings KNIPEX’s front and side gripping technology to a remarkably compact tool.

The TwinGrip XS (82 00 100) has a particularly slim head, making it well suited to maintenance, mechanical engineering and installation work where access is restricted. Valve blocks, pneumatic and hydraulic components and machinery are among the applications where its small dimensions can make the difference between reaching a component and having to remove surrounding parts first.

Despite its size, the TwinGrip XS is designed for serious gripping work. Its front jaw can grip round components from 2 to 12mm in diameter, while the side gripping area accommodates round parts up to 12mm and hexagonal components up to 10mm across flats. Flat workpieces up to 7mm thick can also be held securely using three-point contact.

The front gripping jaw is particularly useful when tackling worn or damaged screws and bolts that are difficult to approach conventionally. Specially hardened gripping teeth, with a hardness of approximately 61 HRC, provide high wear resistance and a secure bite.

A box-joint design with two adjustment positions allows the gripping capacity to be set quickly, while the slim rotation zone means the pliers can be turned efficiently without repeatedly changing hand position - a useful advantage when working inside machinery or crowded assemblies.

The handles have a textured surface for a secure grip and an integrated pinch guard helps prevent fingers becoming trapped when the pliers close. With a burnished finish, polished head and a weight of just 58g, the TwinGrip XS is small enough to keep close at hand in a pocket or tool bag.

The new model joins the established KNIPEX TwinGrip range as well as KNIPEX’s growing family of 100mm XS tools, providing tradespeople and technicians with another full-function tool where space and accessibility are at a premium.
