Removing insulation from larger conductors accurately means cutting deeply enough to achieve a clean strip without marking or damaging what lies beneath. The new KNIPEX 12 12 15 Precision Insulation Stripper uses form-fitting blades matched to specific conductor sizes to give installers a precise, repeatable strip.
The latest addition to the KNIPEX Precision Insulation Stripper range is designed specifically for PVC-insulated cables with conductor cross-sections of 6, 10 and 16mm².
Rather than relying on a general-purpose cutting edge, two high-quality pairs of blades cut the insulation evenly around its entire circumference. The interchangeable, form-fitting blades are precisely matched to the relevant conductor cross-section, helping produce a clean stripping result while leaving the cable insulation free from pressure marks. This makes the 12 12 15 particularly useful for demanding electrical applications where consistency matters and conductors need to be prepared repeatedly to the same standard.
An adjustable length stop provides stripping lengths from 5 to 20mm, allowing installers to set the required dimension and repeat it across successive conductors. The stop is manufactured from glass-fibre-reinforced plastic and uses screw fastening to provide a reliable, precise fit on the bolt.
The new 12 12 15 joins seven existing versions to bring the Precision Insulation Stripper range to eight models. Across the range, KNIPEX offers tools for insulation materials including PTFE, Kapton® film, FEP, PVC and PO used on PV cables.
Depending on the model selected, conductor sizes across the wider series extend from approximately 0.09mm² up to the 16mm² capacity of the new tool, allowing users to select blades and stripping capacities for the cable and insulation material being worked on.
The 12 12 15 itself is 195mm long and covers the three larger PVC-insulated conductor sizes of 6, 10 and 16mm².
