As EV charging continues to evolve beyond simple hardware installation, Sync Energy has launched a new reward scheme called Sync Energy Connect designed to recognise best practice commissioning and connected handover leaving end-users confident charging through the Sync Energy App and maximising all it’s features.

Running from January to the end of April, the scheme rewards installers with £50 for every two verified, fully connected EV charger installations. To qualify, chargers must be handed over to the homeowner, with the end user completing their first charge via the Sync Energy app.

Smart chargers are increasingly expected to integrate with variable energy tariffs, solar generation and demand flexibility programmes. Without correct commissioning and app setup, many of these capabilities remain unused, limiting both customer benefit and overall system performance.

For installers, ensuring chargers are fully connected delivers practical advantages. A complete app handover helps homeowners understand how and when to charge, monitor energy usage and manage costs more effectively. It also reduces common call-backs linked to scheduling issues, connectivity problems or tariff confusion, saving time and improving customer satisfaction.

Demand Flexibility is also a key part of this connected approach. Through the Sync Energy App, eligible homeowners can earn £5 per month, when they allow charging to be briefly paused during periods of peak grid demand, helping to balance the demand on the electricity network. This brief pause is managed automatically, requiring no change in charging behaviour and can be opted out of at any time. In return, customers can earn a monthly reward for taking part.

For installers, this creates a valuable handover conversation. Explaining how smart charging can support the wider electricity network while offering potential financial benefits helps reinforce the value of specifying a connected EV charger with Smart App functionality.

The reward scheme is open to Sync Energy installers in mainland Great Britain, with eligible domestic installations completed from 1st October 2025 onwards included if the homeowner completes their first charge via the Sync Energy App between 20th January and the end of April. Rewards can be taken as digital vouchers valid at 500+ outlets, or for higher earners, claimed via cashback by invoice, subject to minimum thresholds and supplier setup requirements.

By linking installer rewards directly to connected commissioning and first charge completion, Sync Energy aims to benefit all parties: installers are recognised for delivering quality installations and homeowners gain access to intelligent charging features within the Sync Energy App.
