The playbook offers free, industry-specific mental health and wellbeing training, as well as tools and resources.

RWE joins Aico in supporting the programme, reinforcing a shared commitment to improving the wellbeing of young people entering the industry. Their backing ensures the continuation and expansion of the Apprentice Playbook and allows the EIC to offer tailored, practical training courses completely free of charge to apprentices nationwide.

The Apprentice Playbook currently offers 15 online courses covering key topics such as money management, banter vs bullying, coping with suicide and loss, homelessness, anxiety, and alcoholism. Apprentices can access these resources through the EIC Learning Management System.

In addition to online training, the EIC is actively engaging with colleges, training providers and businesses by delivering both in-person and virtual talks. These sessions aim to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing, while introducing students and staff to the support services available. The charity is also expanding its presence at college open days and industry events, ensuring apprentices know where to turn for support from the very start of their careers.

The programme is already making a meaningful impact across the UK, with recent engagements at Loughborough College, Salford College, and Abingdon and Witney College. The EIC was also pleased to attend TechFest at Hopwood Hall College, further extending its reach within the education sector.

Kate Adamczyk, Director of Marketing and Business Development at the Electrical Industries Charity says,

“We are incredibly grateful to Aico and RWE for their support of The Apprentice Playbook. Their sponsorship enables us to reach as many apprentices as possible with essential training and resources that support their mental health and wellbeing at this crucial point in their careers.”

The Apprentice Playbook is designed to support apprentices during the critical early years of their careers. By equipping them with practical tools, knowledge, and resilience, the initiative helps build a stronger, healthier workforce for the future.
