This Q & A is one of thousands posted in our Technical Expertise area, and answered on a daily basis by our Voltimum Experts.

Question: If one feeds a sub-distribution board, say to an internal garage or workshop, and if this is (say) dependent on the load, will a PVC 6mm or PVC 10mm twin & earth cable be adequate as the earth circuit protective conductor (CPC), as long as all the test parameters are satisfied?

Answer: Normally yes, as long as the equation in 543.1.3 is satisfied and the required disconnection time is met.
