Adaptaflex conduit systems protect against Rodent Attack

Published: 24 September 2013 Category: News

When power or communications cables are installed in rural areas, there is a risk of rodent attack. Appliances can be shorted, the electrical system damaged and the risk of fire increased. Adaptaflex recommends the use of its nylon based, non-metallic flexible conduit as an effective solution.

Nylons do not retain the rodent's scent and nylon based conduit systems can protect exposed runs of PVC insulated and sheathed cables.  They have specific advantages over alternative methods of protection. It is easier to install, flexible for applications in awkward areas, has excellent fire resistance properties and withstands extreme temperatures.

Adaptaflex Type PA flexible electrical conduits are made from nylon (Polyamide 6), which in fire performance terms is self-extinguishing and therefore suitable for use within buildings. It is also IP rated and offers high UV resistance. A range of conduit internal diameters is available.
