Voltimum UK & Ireland (www.voltimum.co.uk) has been chosen by Building Services Journal - the magazine of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) - and Electrical & Mechanical Contractor magazine, to be a finalist in the Building Services Awards 2004, to be held on Thursday 24th June in the Great Room at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
The Building Services Awards acknowledge and reward excellence, innovation and professionalism. Established by Building Services Journal and Electrical & Mechanical Contractor magazine, the Awards have grown in stature year on year. They are aimed at recognising the industry's top performing companies. The Awards have also been designed to encourage higher standards throughout the sector.
Voltimum UK & Ireland, the web portal for the electrical installation industry, has been chosen by the judges for the Innovation of the Year Award in which it is one of six finalists. The other finalists in this category are Epsison Test Services, George S Hall, NG Bailey, Rolton Group and Wagner UK.
Voltimum UK & Ireland is the UK arm of a major, highly interactive and feature-rich pan-European web portal which aimed to become the central reference point for all electrical information right across the UK and mainland Europe. It has been operational in six countries for well over a year now and is meeting its targets in all of them. Voltimum is unique in the UK and European electrical industry and, as such, is an ideal finalist for the 2004 Building Services Awards Innovation category.

The 2004 Awards have been given a sporting theme with a variety of attractions ranging from live coverage of the European Cup Quarterfinal to previews of the British Grand Prix, the Olympics and Wimbledon. The winner will be announced at the Awards ceremony.
Also to be held on the same day and at the same venue is a related one-day conference. Thought to be unique, this will identify the industry's current biggest clients, how work is passed up and down the supply chain, and who influences the decision to appoint a particular engineering consultant or specialist M&E Contractor.
