This Q & A of the Day concerns the mounting of conduit box to metal trunking. It has been answered by SELECT (Distribution Equipment including Cable Management):

Question: Can you please advise as to whether there is a specific requirement, or Regulation, that states that female bushes MUST be used when mounting a conduit box to metal trunking by way of a male brass bush and lock ring?
In the installation I am dealing with there is sufficient room in both trunking and conduit box for the cabling, there is enough length on the cables to prevent them being damaged as they enter the bush (by pulling) and the cables are fully supported along their length.
Answer: Although the normal method of connecting a metal box to trunking is via a coupling, there is no specific Regulation to address this directly. The method, however, should be mechanically strong and provide for electrical continuity.
