Geoff Cronshaw's Desk

1. Boat Cruise Brochure:  Geoff printed up this brochure because he is about to go to Zeebrugge next week on this luxury cruise with his wife.  He is a big fan of travelling and is looking forward to staying in the Queen’s Grill Penthouse Suite for two blissful nights on this short holiday. 

2. Wiring Matters Magazines:  These are recent issues of the popular magazine, which can also be found online.  The latest edition has a new style/look to it.  Geoff is the Chief Technical Advisor and a contributor to the magazine, often writing informative technical articles.  “We publish Wiring Matters to keep the industry up-to-date with current trends,” said Geoff.

3. 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations:  Geoff refers to this copy of the 17th Edition a lot, hence why it’s looking a bit tatty.  In his role as Secretary for the IET National Committee, Geoff was involved in signing off this edition for publication.

4. Photo of Dog:  Geoff keeps a photo of his beautiful Border Collie, Defor, on his desk.  As mentioned, Geoff starts each day by walking Defor for some morning fresh air and a stretch.

6. IEC 1906 Award and Lapel Badge: Geoff was recognised through this award for his outstanding technical work and on being an “Expert of IEC Technical Committee No. 64, Electrical installations and protection against electric shock”.  He was nominated for this award by the Chairman and Secretary of the IEC Technical Committee No. 64.

7. Collection of Glass Paperweights:  These are in recognition of Geoff’s work with the IET.    He was presented with one of these glass collectibles in appreciation of the seminars he gave in Hong Kong.  Another one was presented in celebration of the IEC’s 100 years, as Geoff was Chairman of one of the IEC maintenance teams.

8. Aston DB7 Model and Documents:  Geoff owns a Vantage and is a big fan of Aston Martin.  He used to be a member of the Aston Martin Owner Club and would attend some of their events.  Geoff owns a few models and is a fan of the cars because they are “very well engineered”.

9. Good Wood Revival Meeting:  This recent and annual Chichester event was attended by Geoff, as he is a big fan of cars.  Here historic racing cars from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s are showcased.
