The important new IET Code of Practice for EV charging equipment installation provides definitive guidance on safe electrical installation best practice, and enables confident procurement and compliance for insurers:

This new IET Code of Practise looks at why we need it, those it is aimed at, the key technical recommendations, embedding the Code of Practice into the electric vehicle (EV) industry, and communicating EV electrical safety to the public.
It also enables compliance with the IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2008 (2011), which does not specifically cover installing EV charging equipment. It references all relevant European and international standards.
The Code of Practise is aimed at installers, competent electricians (Part P registration may not be sufficient), procurers who specify EV installation work, design engineers (manufacturing EV charging equipment and vehicles) and also at the electricity supply companies.
Developed by ISL Technical Committee 1.1 EV Charging Equipment Installation in 2012, and in 92-page paperback form, the full Code of Practise is available priced £35.75 for IET members and £55 for non-members. The Product Code is PSEV001P and the ISBN is: 978-1-84919-514-0.
