After months of planning, Schneider Electric is delighted to have gained the highly recommended Link-up approval, the UK rail industry supplier registration qualification scheme for several of its products and services.

In order to achieve the Link-up standard, the organisation’s assessment team visited Schneider Electric’s premises in Telford and carried out a thorough two day audit of the company.
This activity follows a continual, concerted focus on the rail industry for Schneider Electric, a global energy management specialist, amid a time when the sector is increasingly under pressure to become as sustainable as its European counterparts and deal with burgeoning legislation.
With experience in the international rail industry since 1850, Schneider Electric is already a much trusted name within rail infrastructure, reputed for key solutions in areas of power supplies, signalling and rail station management. However, as the onus on sustainable strategy grows, the business is looking to extend its remit through its unrivalled, energy-efficient technology which includes everything from low loss transformers through to energy efficient lighting control.
Lee Fairburn, segment marketing manager at Schneider Electric comments: “Link-up operates a rigorous assessment process and the qualified supplier status represents a significant step for Schneider Electric in the rail industry.
“Already we have some major projects in the pipeline and this standard will open some even bigger doors for us. Looking forward, from our state-of-the-art power supplies through to our world-class sustainable innovations, we anticipate working more closely with the rail sector and promoting the full breadth of our offer.”
