Wiring accessories, lighting controls and consumer units – all, and more, are fully detailed in the new Eaton MEM catalogue:
A vast array of high quality wiring accessories for residential, commercial and public buildings; lighting controls, cable management products and data management systems; plus a comprehensive range of domestic consumer units and circuit protection devices is detailed in a new 272-page colour catalogue from Eaton MEM.
New to the Consumer Interface Products Catalogue 2004 are Memstyle socket-outlets, BC3 lamps and lampholders, Studio 5 lighting controls, 3CT three-compartment cable trunking and the latest TV/radio/satellite/return outlet plates.
New numbering system:
A major departure for the new catalogue is the introduction of a completely new numbering system for the Eaton MEM product range. This became necessary because the rate of new product development, especially in recent years, had exhausted the capabilities of the existing numbering system. The system follows a logical sequence that helps identify not only the product, but specific features such as plate finishes (moulded, stainless steel, Ultra flat plate etc.), single or double-gang mounting etc. For ease of use, the catalogue lists existing reference numbers alongside the new numbers and includes a product index covering both old and new catalogue numbers.
The Memstyle socket-outlet range comprises 800 new socket-outlets covering traditional white moulded products, flush metal plates in ten elegant finishes, plus a choice of 180 RAL colours. Features of the range include two or more earth terminals as standard, a choice of inboard or outboard rockers, and strengthened face plates combined with a new slim back profile giving more space for wiring. Switched socket-outlets have double-pole switching as standard, but a single-pole option is available. Non-standard/clean earth socket-outlets are also available.
Metal rockers are now offered as an option across the Eaton MEM wiring accessories range, including plate switches, grid switches, socket-outlets and connection units, to complement the metal plates.
Lampholders:
The new BC3 range of lampholders has been developed specifically to meet the requirements of Building Regulations Part L1 for low-energy domestic lighting. This calls for a number of lighting points in new homes that will only accept energy-efficient lamps. The BC3 lampholder has a special bayonet cap fitting with three, J-slot fixings. Only compatible BC3 compact fluorescent (CFL) lamps can be used with the lampholder.
And lighting control systems:
The Studio 5 addressable lighting management system offers control and dimming functions for commercial interiors, or architectural lighting solutions for scene-setting in restaurants and hotels, all in a single system. It uses wire-free radio frequency control technology to transmit control messages from remote switches, sensors, hand-held controllers or scene recallers to a digital marshalling box (DMB). Hard wired switching functions can also be accommodated. It does not require costly BUS networks. Control functions can be re-configured quickly and simply by means of a hand-held device.
