Do EV charge points need to be OLEV registered?

No, EV charge points do not need to be installed and registered by an OLEV approved company and they do not need to be registered.

However, if they are not installed by an OLEV registered company, the client will lose out on a government grant up to £500 when the EV charge point is installed.

To be OLEV registered an installer needs to meet the Office Of Low Emissions Vehicles criteria and manufacturers approval. All information can be found on the OLEV website.
