Thorn's best selling range of surface fluorescent luminaires - has been completely redesigned
Taking full advantage of the thinner yet more efficient T5 (T16) fluorescent lamp, Thorn has redesigned its highly successful Diffusalux range of surface luminaries packed complete with diffuser.
Diffusalux II`s secret is in its shallow, totally enclosed construction with sleek curved diffuser. Less light is trapped inside the fitting and more is directed where it is needed. The luminaires are intended primarily for schools and health care buildings, with specific versions featuring lockable end caps and low glare optics for ward areas respectively, but their smooth outer surfaces make them very suitable for commercial premises. The absence of ridges in the design means dust is unable to settle on the fitting, reducing maintenance and preserving the look of the product.
The luminaries are sealed to IP44 (splash proof), for T5 or T8 lamps, in a body that is easy and quick to install due to quick-fix horseshoe washers and piano key terminals. As an extension to the range, Diffusalux II Hospital and College luminaries can be fitted with asymmetric optics for use in corridors. Integrated emergency lighting and digital dimming versions are also available.
