The nation is limbering up for the return of Sport Relief (www.sportrelief.com) on Saturday July 15th - and it promises to be an unforgettable day:
Sitting at the heart of the whole campaign the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile is going to see tens of thousands of people simultaneously going the distance and helping to raise cash for those that need it most.
Whether jogging, skipping or hopping with friends, family or workmates right across the land, Sport Relief Milers will be putting their best foot forward at events across 15 major cities as well as at hundreds more locally-organised sites too. Log on to www.sportrelief.com to find your nearest Mile.
Why not enter?
With the last Sport Relief Mile in 2004 attracting 81,000 milers including Princes William and Harry and Prime Minister Tony Blair, everyone from teenagers in trendy trainers to families in fancy dress are being urged to enter a place on the start line at www.sportrelief.com. Why not enter with your work mates, challenge your colleagues and sock it to poverty with a team entry! So get sponsored and help raise lots of cash for vulnerable people leading tough lives here at home in the UK, and in the poorest countries in the world.
"I've seen Sport Relief money at work. Now it is your turn for action. By being sponsored to take part in the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile just think of the difference you will be making, the weight you will be losing and the blisters you will be gaining! Do it. It's worth it."
Chris Evans
As soon as you sign up for the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile you'll be sent your own special red sock to wear on the big day. Once you've completed your Mile you'll be presented with a second to make a perfect pair and show the world that you've socked it to poverty! But it's not only your feet that can look the part - whether you're a Miler or just want to show your support for Sport Relief, there's a range of merchandise from the T-shirt, and badge to our mascot, Roger.
All of the Sport Relief merchandise is exclusively available on the high street at Sainsbury's stores, and online at www.sportrelief.com. So sprint down to your local store or log on!

More about Sport Relief:
Sport Relief was set up by Comic Relief and BBC Sport to tackle poverty and disadvantage here at home and overseas. Since its launch in 2002, Sport Relief has raised over £30m. Half of the money raised will be spent in the UK to help give those living in disadvantaged and divided communities a better life; the other half will help children and young people in the world's poorest countries, faced with the daily reality of extreme poverty, abuse and exploitation. Sport Relief is an initiative of Comic Relief, registered charity 326568, in association with BBC Sport.
