Should I gland both ends of cable if the armourings are not being used as a CPC?

A Voltimum user has outlined their conundrum about SWA cable and glands. Can anybody within our community offer any advice?

Should I gland both ends of cable if the armourings are not being used as a CPC?

I’ve been having a discussion with colleagues about the requirement to gland both ends of SWA cable with an SWA gland.

My background is mainly in a commercial setting and I would always gland both ends of the cable even if the armourings were not being used as a CPC. My colleagues argue that there is no need to gland both ends if not using the armourings as a CPC, just gland at the supply end. The other end can be cut, stripped back and then taped.
