The fund offers a major opportunity for local authorities, healthcare organisations, educational institutions and external organisations to accelerate their journey towards a greener, more sustainable future. With the application window open on a first come, first served basis, interested parties are encouraged to act swiftly to secure funding for crucial heat decarbonisation projects.
The fund made available in England (and a similar fund being offered in Scotland) aims to support a range of heat decarbonisation measures that will play a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change.
Eligible projects include:
- Installation of Heat Pumps: Introducing energy-efficient heat pump systems to replace traditional heating methods.
- Use of District Heating Networks: Implementing district heating networks to distribute low-carbon heat to multiple buildings efficiently.
- Retrofitting Buildings with Insulation: Enhancing the energy efficiency of existing structures through insulation upgrades.
- Development of New Low-Carbon Technologies: Pioneering and deploying innovative technologies that promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
