Schneider Electric the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is urging applicants to prepare their submissions for the latest public sector building decarbonisation fund.

The fund offers a major opportunity for local authorities, healthcare organisations, educational institutions and external organisations to accelerate their journey towards a greener, more sustainable future. With the application window open on a first come, first served basis, interested parties are encouraged to act swiftly to secure funding for crucial heat decarbonisation projects.

The fund made available in England (and a similar fund being offered in Scotland) aims to support a range of heat decarbonisation measures that will play a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change.

Eligible projects include:

  • Installation of Heat Pumps: Introducing energy-efficient heat pump systems to replace traditional heating methods.
  • Use of District Heating Networks: Implementing district heating networks to distribute low-carbon heat to multiple buildings efficiently.
  • Retrofitting Buildings with Insulation: Enhancing the energy efficiency of existing structures through insulation upgrades.
  • Development of New Low-Carbon Technologies: Pioneering and deploying innovative technologies that promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
