Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, is appointing Peter Herweck executive vice president of the Industry Business and member of the executive committee. Peter, 50, has had a full career in industrial automation at Mitsubishi and Siemens and is a German national.
Peter began his career at Mitsubishi Electric as a software development engineer in Japan before joining Siemens in 1993, where he held a variety of positions in the automation and drives field in Germany and the US. In 2004, Peter served as a member of the Managing Board and President of the Automation & Drives Group at Siemens Ltd. China. Four years later, he became President of the Industry Sector in North-East Asia. In 2011, he was appointed Head of Corporate Strategy and Corp. Vice President. In 2014, he became Chief Executive Officer on the Process Industries & Drives division.
Peter studied automation technology at Saarland University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and received a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Université de Metz, France. He holds a MBA and completed the Advanced Management programme at Harvard Business School.
After an exceptional career with Schneider Electric, an impressive contribution to the success of the Industry Business and the successful integration of Invensys, Clemens Blum, Executive Vice President of the Industry Business and Member of the Executive Committee, has decided to transition to a well-deserved retirement from full time professional life on December 31, 2016.
Peter will join Schneider Electric on October 1, 2016. Following a 3-months inclusion time to acquire a deeper knowledge of Schneider Electric and its employees, he’ll be in charge of the Industry Business from January 1, 2017.
