Question: Being plastic, a gas pipe it is a non-conductive, therefore not an extraneous conductive part (Part 2 definitions).
So why provide a main equipotential bonding connection to the gas pipe when it is made of plastic?
Answer: There is no formal requirement to bond plastic pipework entering in to an electrical installation. Correctly - as you say - it is not deemed to be an extraneous conductive part.
